Zărnești Challenge Half Marathon is a trail running event staged in the Brebina area of Zărnești, with the start near the motocross circuit and courses that head onto forest roads and paths in the woods below the Piatra Craiului. The 2026 edition takes place on 7 November and offers three distances of 21 km, 10 km and 5 km for runners of different experience levels. It is the classic trail version of the Zărnești Challenge project and is separate from the OCR competition held in summer, since the autumn races run without artificial obstacles. Early November shapes the character of the day: forest, forest roads, paths of varying gradient and the closeness of the Piatra Craiului put the late-season run entirely in nature.
