The Yorkshire Weekend Saunter in Saltaire takes runners, joggers and walkers along the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in West Yorkshire. Entrants choose between 5km, a 10km and a half marathon, and every distance follows the same flat out and back trail beside the water, so navigation is simple and the views stay with you in both directions. The mood is relaxed and inclusive rather than strictly competitive, with personal goals and sociable running at the heart of the day. Race morning begins with registration from 7:30am, the half marathon sets off first at 08:30, and the shorter races follow at 08:45 and 09:00.
