Yodogawa Marathon & Walk starts and finishes in front of the athletics ground in the Sotoshima area of Yodogawa River Park. The full marathon, half marathon and 12km walk all cross the 660m Yodogawa Ozeki weir, a structure that normally bars public access and links Osaka's Miyakojima ward with Higashiyodogawa ward, giving participants views along the river that few people ever see. The programme runs from a full marathon down to a 3km run and a 12km walk, so a wide range of ages and abilities can take part. The day opens with a ceremony at 8:15, the half marathon sets off at 9:00, the full marathon at 9:10, the 3km at 10:30 and the walk at 11:00.
