The inaugural Wolfpack 5K sets off from the heart of the Prairie Ridge High School campus, sends participants out through the surrounding Squaw Creek neighbourhood and brings them back to where the day began. The route is uncertified and runs on paved campus and neighbourhood surfaces, with chip-timed bibs making sure every finish time is accurate. Race day starts with a group warm-up at 9:45 am before the 10:00 am gun, and packet pickup runs from 8:45 to 9:50 am in the school cafeteria on the morning itself or in advance. A baby turkey mascot patrols the course for the Pass the Poult Challenge, offering extra prizes to anyone who beats it to the line, and every entry supports the Prairie Ridge High School Booster Club.
