The WinterFest 5k & Fun Run takes over Carpenter Park in Thornton, Colorado, with a 3.1 mile course that runners can race chip-timed or simply stroll as a family-friendly fun run and walk. The route stays within the park, so the day is about the atmosphere as much as the miles, and every finisher can head straight into the WinterFest celebrations. The wider festival brings ice skating, holiday shopping, Santa visits and a heated beer garden where runners can claim a free beer, a warm drink and a collectible festive mug. Start times are at 10:15 AM, with the event run annually in December.
