Experience the Winter Wanderlust 50km, a breathtaking ultra-trail race along the North Downs Way, taking you from Detling to Wye. Featuring rolling hills, stunning vineyards, historic landmarks, and a truly festive atmosphere, this race is the perfect winter trail-running challenge.

Route

The race begins in Detling, goes through Boxley Warren ancient woodland, climbs onto the North Downs, passes Thurnham Castle, Lenham Cross, then through open fields, sheltered woodland, and farmland. The final 8km loop goes through Wye Downs Nature Reserve, ascending to Wye Crown and Devils Kneading Trough before descending to the finish in Wye.

Getting There

Nearest train station to start: Bearsted (2 miles from Showground). Wye station is a short walk from finish. Direct trains to Ashford International or Canterbury.

Parking · FreeFree street parking at Detling Showground (start) and Wye Village Hall (finish). Additional street parking in Wye. Do not park in Tickled Trout pub bays.

ShuttleYes, an optional shuttle from Wye to Detling departs at 07:15, costs £12, and requires pre-booking. Limited to 100 tickets.
