The 100 mile field starts at 7:00 AM Saturday and heads east along the rail grade before returning west past the start/finish area for an additional out and back through the town of Pe Ell and beyond to the Pluvius Hill crest. Two extra aid stations sit on that western leg, and an overall cutoff of 34 hours applies.

The organisers promote it as exactly that. The course is among the flattest and fastest in Washington State, the surface is mostly hard packed gravel, and generous cutoffs give first timers room to finish comfortably.
Overnight camping is available at the venue, and nearby Rainbow Falls State Park offers campsites for Friday and Saturday nights, bookable through www.parks.wa.gov.
Surface improvements on the unimproved western end of the Willapa Hills Trail are planned for autumn and winter 2025, and permits are still pending. If large sections are closed on race day, 100 mile entrants should be prepared to run a double of the 50 mile course, which stays entirely on improved trail and would be even faster.
Oly Trail Runners is a non-profit. All profits from the Willapa Trail Festival are used to improve and maintain the Willapa Hills Trail and to support the communities it passes through.
