Other questions
It covers about 50km with close to 4000m of climbing over mountain terrain with exposed scrambling. Completing all 14 peaks inside 24 hours is brutally tough, and doing it over two days is still very difficult. The organiser describes it as achievable by anyone with a good level of fitness, but not one to underestimate, and previous hill walking experience is highly recommended.
No. The knife edge ridge is only undertaken in good weather, and anyone who does not want to cross it can avoid the section and meet the group at the other end.
There are two. The run option moves at a steady jog on the easy sections and walks the rest, with time to pick up or sharpen navigational skills, and is good preparation for races such as the V3K, Welsh 1000m or Dragon's Back. The walk option takes it steady with the aim of completing the whole journey inside 20 hours, with guides covering navigation.
No. This is a guided challenge rather than a marked race, and qualified Mountain Leaders and Mountaineering Instructors lead every group. Guides handle the navigation, and they are happy to share their expertise if you want to develop your own skills.
Guiding runs at a low ratio of one leader to four participants, with food and drinks available at three key road crossing checkpoints. A support team follows the event so that anyone who needs to leave early can be collected, and transport back to the start is provided.
