The 46 km Paranesti Path is a looped mountain trail that starts and finishes in the town of Paranesti, in the Drama regional unit of northern Greece. Runners climb roughly 2,000 m and descend about 1,970 m over ground that is mostly single track, with 18 percent dirt road and 11 percent asphalt mixed in, so the terrain is hilly and mountainous rather than fast or flat. The field is capped at 200 entrants, five aid stations and medical support sit along the route, and finishers receive gifts at the end. The loop opens at 09:00 and closes after nine hours.
