The event starts at Château Soutard in Saint-Émilion and sends runners out along a mix of road and vineyard paths, passing the grounds of celebrated estates such as Soutard, Pavie, Pavie Macquin, Berliquet, Angelus, Yon Figeac, Montlabert, La Dominique, Grand Corbin Despagne, Corbin and Fonroque. Three distances are on offer: an 11 km road race, a half marathon or 20 km, and a full marathon. Every participant is given a bottle of wine, and the profits from the day go to research into brain disease.

The organisers describe a foot race combining road and vineyard paths, running past many of the celebrated estates of Saint-Émilion: Soutard, Pavie, Pavie Macquin, Berliquet, Angelus, Yon Figeac, Montlabert, La Dominique, Grand Corbin Despagne, Corbin and Fonroque.
The race is organised by the Rotary Club of Libourne Saint-Émilion together with Les Foulées Vertes en Libournais and the commune of Saint-Émilion, and the profits are donated to research into brain disease.
