The Framfarir cross-country series brings three Saturday morning races to the green spaces of the Reykjavík area in October, all starting at 10:00. Each race day offers a short loop of about 1 km and a longer version of 6.5 to 6.8 km made up of repeated laps of the same circuit. The courses run on grass and gravel paths around Kjarrhólmi in Kópavogur, the Frisbee golf course in Fossvogur and Borgarspítali, with terrain that ranges from flat to hilly and, at Borgarspítali, partly boggy ground. Runners can enter the short race, the long race, or both on the same day, and every finish counts towards the individual points competition in the men's, women's, boys' and girls' categories.
