Veroli Winter Trail - 20 km

The definitive route, profile and any GPX file are published by the organiser close to race day. This listing only confirms that the event covers 20 kilometres, so treat the organiser's page as the source of truth.

Mid January in the Lazio hills can be cold, windy and wet, and the trails may hold mud or patches of ice. Dress in layers you can adjust, wear shoes with decent grip, and carry a light waterproof shell even if the morning looks clear.

Twenty kilometres on winter hill terrain is a genuine step up from a road 10K. If it is your first trail outing, build some off-road running and climbing into your training in the months beforehand so the distance feels familiar.

Veroli sits in the province of Frosinone, roughly 90 kilometres east of Rome and easily reached by car from the A1 motorway. Frosinone is the nearest large town and the usual rail access point, with a short drive up to Veroli from there.

Veroli itself has small guesthouses and agriturismi in and around the historic centre. Frosinone and the surrounding Ciociaria towns offer more choice and are only a short drive away, which is handy if you prefer to arrive the night before.
