VECCT Mílan is the Icelandic championship in the street mile, organised by Vecct and its sponsors with the Icelandic Athletics Association. The course is a fast, completely flat 1119 metre loop on the drag strip of Kvartmíluklúbburinn in Hafnarfjörður, designed in consultation with running professionals and built to the requirements of World Athletics and FRÍ. A 490 metre straight is covered twice, giving the full mile of 1,609 metres on closed tarmac. The evening centres on one mile race with an Icelandic championship title and ISK 250,000 in prize money on the line, and the repeated straight means spectators see the field come past twice.
