The Vale Coastal Trail Races stage point-to-point trail runs along the Vale of Glamorgan coastline in south Wales. The 32.5-mile Vale Ultra starts at Penarth Pier and passes 19 beaches, while the 18.5-mile and 10-mile races join at Porthkerry Park and Llantwit Beach respectively. All routes follow the Wales Coast Path and finish together at Ogmore by Sea after the infamous Hill of Doom. Self-navigated but well signposted, the event provides manned checkpoints with water, snacks and first aid. A compulsory kit list applies and organised bus transport links the finish back to the starts.
