The UTPMA is a trail weekend in the Cantal mountains of the Auvergne, with the meeting point at Place des Carmes in Aurillac. Four timed races carry bibs: a 105 km ultra with 5,800 m of ascent over the volcanic peaks of the Puy Mary massif, a 50 km Grand Trail du Lioran with 1,800 m of climb, a 28 km Trail de la Jordanne with 800 m of climb that can be run solo or as a relay, and the 7 km L'Aurillacoise with 150 m of climb. A 22 km hike called La Rando'fermiere and a 1 km Super-Heros race for children aged 5 to 12 complete the programme. The weekend has a strong festival feel, with a Trail Village, fireworks, bandas, musical entertainment at the aid stations, a pasta party on the Friday evening and a festive local produce meal on the Saturday evening. Runners must bring a valid licence or a PPS medical certificate on the day.
