The Uptown 5K on the Runway takes place on the closed airstrip of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, where runners and walkers cover 5 kilometres of flat tarmac usually reserved for aircraft. Boarding and registration open at 7:30 am, the run sets off at 8:30 am, and afterwards participants gather in the Uptown 5K Village for refreshments, entertainment and community festivities. Entry is free but registration is required, and every stride supports the Trustbridge Hospice Foundation. Now in its seventh year, the event is a celebration of aviation and local goodwill.

Other questions
Yes. The event is described as a 5K run and walk, so participants are welcome to run or walk the course on the airport airstrip at their own pace.
The Uptown 5K Village is the post-race gathering area at the event site. It opens after the finish and offers refreshments and festivities, making it a good place for participants and spectators to stay on after the run.
The Uptown 5K on the Runway raises funds and awareness for the Trustbridge Hospice Foundation, so taking part supports hospice care in the local community.
The course is flat, paved and closed to air traffic, which makes it suitable for strollers, and the run/walk format means participants can move at a comfortable pace. Specific stroller rules were not published on the listing, so check with the organiser before race day.
