Ultra Trail Chiang Mai sends runners through the misty valleys, dense forests and rugged limestone mountains around Chiang Dao in northern Thailand. The route is a single loop on mountain trails, crossing rivers and passing traditional villages on the flanks of Doi Chiang Dao, the country's third-highest peak. Distances range from a 16.6 km taster to a 200 km crossing of the range, with 103 km, 76 km and 40.7 km options in between, and the course carries ITRA certification with UTMB Index points. Race weekend leans on strong local and volunteer support, with airport shuttles, a pre-race meal, a post-race meal and a medal, goodie bag and e-certificate for finishers.
