The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk at the Delaware Beaches is a 5 km run and walk that honours the memory of Stephen Siller, an FDNY firefighter who ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers carrying his rescue gear on 11 September 2001. Participants cover the 5 km distance on foot, whether racing, walking or pushing a stroller, alongside first responders, military members, families and children. The event raises funds for Tunnel to Towers programmes that support first responders and military heroes. Runners collect their bibs, line up at the 8:00 AM start and share a morning of remembrance and community. Registration is split into categories for adults, first responders and military, youth aged 13 to 17, and children aged 12 and under, with further categories available at sign-up.
