Trick or Trot is Run Waterloo's Halloween event, settling into a Saturday morning on the roads of Waterloo with a 5K race and a 200m kids' fun run. Runners arrive early for race-morning bib pickup, and the morning builds towards a costume contest shortly before the 200m sets off and the 5K follows a few minutes later. The 5K is run on road surfaces over a course the registration page describes as out and back, though the exact start line for 2026 is still being confirmed by the organiser. Every finisher comes away with a medal, and costumes are part of the point of the day.

Other questions
Yes. A costume contest runs at 9:40 a.m., ahead of the 200m fun run and the 5K, and costumes are part of the spirit of the morning.
The 5K is run on road surfaces and the registration page links an expected out-and-back course map for 2026, so runners head out and return along the same route.
The organiser is still finalising the venue for 2026, and prices and times can be adjusted. Always confirm the date, start times, venue and entry fee on the official Run Waterloo or Race Roster page before you travel.
