Trang An Marathon returns on 15 November 2026 as the largest marathon staged inside the core of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO dual World Heritage site in Ninh Binh province, Vietnam. Four distances, a marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K, all start and finish at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and follow flat, road-based routes past landmarks such as the Ancient Capital of Hoa Lu, King Le Dai Hanh Temple and Bai Dinh Pagoda. Runners cover the ground through a protected landscape of limestone peaks, rivers and rural villages, with cool late autumn and early winter conditions. The event is organised by Vu Media Joint Stock Company (VRace) together with the Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports, and the day includes chip timing, pace groups, medical support and a finish area with food, massage and bag drop.

Yes. Registration slots can be transferred to another runner before the deadline of 28 October 2026, with a fee of 100,000 VND per transfer. The new runner takes over the entry and should be fit and able to complete the distance.
Mid-November falls in the cool, refreshing late autumn and early winter period, which the organisers describe as ideal running weather, with lower temperatures and humidity than the summer months. Early morning starts mean it can feel cool at the start line, so a light layer for the wait is useful.
The start and finish area at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital is the easiest place for supporters, with toilets and parking nearby. The routes also pass the King Le Dai Hanh Temple and the Bai Dinh Pagoda, both of which are popular points to cheer from within the heritage landscape.
The organisers present Trang An Marathon as an eco-friendly event staged inside a UNESCO dual World Heritage site, and runners are asked to respect the protected landscape by keeping the course and surrounding area free of litter.
