Overview

Trailrun Bergerven sends runners out on the unsurfaced paths and heathland tracks around Bivak Schootshei in Dilsen-Stokkem, on the edge of the Bergerven nature area. Four distances from 8 km to 40 km climb from 140 up to 950 metres of elevation, and the three longer courses pick up an extra feed station on the way before a full spread at the finish. The day opens with the secretariat at 8:00 and the 40 km away at 9:00, while the shorter races follow through the morning and the whole course closes at 15:00. Runners leave the reserve as they found it, with recyclable cups at the feed stations and a clear request to carry litter out.

Race Day

Saturday 30 January: secretariat opens 08:00, 40 km starts 09:00, 24 km at 10:00, 14 km at 10:20 and 8 km at 10:40. The course closes at 15:00.

Parking · FreePlenty of parking is provided along the quay of the canal and in the car park in the immediate surroundings of the race secretariat.

Bag dropYes, there is a supervised baggage drop at the event site. Bags can only be collected on presentation of your race number.

Aid stations · 2Every distance has a generous finish feed. On the 40 km, 24 km and 14 km you also pass one extra station out on the route, with the exact location confirmed in the race briefing.

Before you enter

Time limitAll courses close at 15:00, which gives the 40 km a six hour limit. Feed stations work to a minimum pace of 6 km per hour and are cleared once that time has passed.

Collecting your numberThe race secretariat opens at 08:00 at the event site. You receive your race bib there along with a baggage label whose number matches your race number.
