Trail Valle de los Perdidos sends runners into the wild heart of Patagonia near El Bolsón, in Argentina's Río Negro province. The route follows rugged singletrack through forested valleys and climbs onto highland plateaus, with sweeping views of the Andes opening up along the way. The region's mild, runner-friendly climate defies its southern latitude and makes for comfortable racing conditions. All distances start and finish at Camping Río Azul, about 6 km from the centre of El Bolsón along a dirt road. Runners choose between 25km, 12km, 6km and a 4.5km vertical race, with the vertical held on the Friday and the remaining distances on the Saturday.

The course is entirely trail, running over rugged singletrack, through forested valleys and across highland plateaus within the Río Azul - Lago Escondido Protected Natural Area. The profile is hilly throughout.
Yes. In the high-altitude sections from 1,400 metres above sea level and upwards there is a high probability of snow on the ground, so runners should be prepared for cold and wintry conditions.
