The Trail des Châteaux takes place on a late-May Saturday afternoon and evening in Saint-Cyr-en-Val, in the Loiret countryside south of Orléans. Three trail distances of 8, 16 and 23 km are on offer, with the longest setting off first at 16:30 so that the whole field comes home as the light fades. Two Nordic walking and sport walking routes of 9 and 15 km share the day, running with staggered starts through the late afternoon. Racing is on trails rather than tarmac, and entries are handled online through ProTiming, with registration due to open ahead of the 2027 edition.
