The Trail des Castagnes sets off from the Parc du Casino in Lamalou-les-Bains and is run entirely at night, so competitors spend the whole race on trails in the dark with headlamps lighting the way. The route climbs into the hills above the Orb valley, and the organisers publish an elevation profile and an IGN map so entrants can study the climbs and descents before race day. Entries are handled by Association Caroux X-Trail, the club behind the better known Trail du Caroux, and the club's wider programme also includes a Rando Gourmande for walkers.

Other questions
Yes. The whole race is run after dark, so a working headlamp with spare batteries is essential. The rules page sets out the full mandatory kit list.
The event site carries an IGN map of the Trail des Castagnes plus an elevation profile (Profil Trail des Castagnes By Night) so you can plan your effort.
The club also organises a Rando Gourmande, a food and walking event, alongside the trail races. It is a separate event with its own entry.
Aid station details are listed in the rules. For a night race, expect at least one refreshment point, and carry water if the rules require it.
