The Trail des 3 Châteaux takes place in and around Le Creusot, a town in the hills of Saône-et-Loire in Burgundy, on Saturday 6 March 2027. Runners choose between four trail distances: the 63 km Grande Traversée, the 30 km Traversée, the 17 km Petite Traversée and the 9 km Boucle Creusotine. The event is run on natural trail terrain through the wooded countryside and historic estates that give the race its name. The short Boucle Creusotine makes a loop from the town, while the longer Traversées spend the day out in the surrounding hills. Full route details, start times and entry conditions are published by the organiser on the registration page.

Other questions
Yes. Alongside the 63 km and 30 km races there is a 17 km Petite Traversée and a 9 km Boucle Creusotine, which is the shortest and most accessible option on the programme.
Early March in Burgundy is often cold and can be wet or muddy underfoot. Expect changeable conditions and plan for a layered kit, gloves and a waterproof layer, with trail shoes that cope with soft ground.
Spectators are welcome in Le Creusot, and the shorter Boucle Creusotine loop is the easiest race to follow because it stays close to town. The longer routes head out into the hills, so pick a single viewpoint.
