Overview

The Trail de Conímbriga Terras de Sicó is a three-day trail running festival that plays out across the municipalities of Condeixa-a-Nova, Penela, Ansião, Alvaiázere, Soure and Pombal in central Portugal. Seven starts are spread from Friday to Sunday, moving from a 13.5 km Mini Trail and a 13.5 km walk up to 25 km, 42 km, 60 km, 111 km and the 111 miles Terras de Sicó. Every distance begins and finishes in Condeixa-a-Nova, and the two longest ultras set off through the night. Entry covers a goodie bag, a single-use timing chip, drink and nutrition stations, medical assistance, massage and showers. The ground underfoot is trail throughout, with the short walks offering an easy, low-key way into the weekend.

Race Day

Race pack collection is split across three days: Friday 26 February from 16:00 to 20:00 for the 111 miles race and from 21:00 to 22:30 for the 111 km, 60 km and 42 km races, all at Praça do Município next to Locky's Locker. Saturday 27 February, collection runs from 07:00 to 08:45 for the 60 km and 42 km, and on Sunday 28 February from 07:00 to 09:15 for the 25 km, Mini Trail and Mini walk.

ParkingThe start, finish and race pack collection are in the centre of Condeixa-a-Nova, so the practical approach is to arrive with time to spare and use the car parks in and around the town centre. The event page does not list a dedicated event car park, so check the official information closer to race day.

Public transportCondeixa-a-Nova sits just south of Coimbra, so the town is easiest to reach by road on the A1 motorway or by train and bus via Coimbra. The nearest international airports are Porto and Lisbon, both of which have train connections onwards to Coimbra.

Before you enter

RefundsRefunds or the transfer of registration to another person are permitted in all events and can be requested when a participant has a proven impediment to taking part, provided it is related to an accident or illness diagnosed after registration for the event. Transferring to a distance shorter than the one you registered for does not imply a refund of the difference, and can only be done if there are available places. A full refund within 24 hours of registering is also available if you change your mind.

TransfersUntil 21 February 2027, only changes to the bib number holder are permitted, on payment of 5 EUR. Changes of distance are only permitted if places are available, and only until 21 February 2027.

Minimum ageAge limits vary by distance. The 111 miles, 111 km and 60 km races are open to runners aged 20 and over, the 42 km, 25 km and Mini walk to those aged 18 and over, and the Mini Trail to those aged 17 and over. Age is counted as at race day.
