This one mile event on 6 October 2026 asks runners to leave their watches behind and predict exactly how long the distance will take them. Participants toe the line at Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School in London, Ontario with nothing but their best guess and their own sense of pace, then run the mile without any timing device. The field welcomes everyone from seasoned racers to complete beginners, and the friendly competition is aimed at personal goals rather than head to head racing. As runners approach the finish, the cheers build for each person trying to land on their predicted time. Prizes are handed to those whose actual mile times come closest to their guesses, making the evening a test of training, instinct and mental sharpness as much as fitness. The race sets off at 18:30, with early October conditions in London typically bringing temperatures around 7 to 16 degrees Celsius and about seven hours of sunshine, ending with sunset at roughly 18:40.

Other questions
It is a one mile run where you must predict your finishing time before you set off. You then run the mile without any timing device, and the runners whose actual times come closest to their guesses take home the prizes.
No. The whole format depends on running without a timing device, so watches, phones and similar gadgets should be left out of the run. Your training and feel for pace are the only tools you have.
Aim to arrive well before the 18:30 start so you have time to collect your entry, confirm or submit your predicted mile time, and warm up. Sunset in London falls around 18:40 that evening, so the finish will be in low light.
Absolutely. The course is short and very spectator friendly, with the start and finish close together, so supporters can watch the whole run and cheer as each predicted time is tested.
