The Tokyo 30K follows a course through parts of the city known for their urban character and natural beauty, covering 30 kilometres on firm road surfaces in early October. It is put on as a marathon simulation, so the day is built around practising pacing, fuelling and race-day routines rather than chasing a mass-participation spectacle, and it suits runners sharpening up ahead of the autumn season. Entry is handled through Runnet, with a reduced fee of ¥6,500 for residents of Koto ward against ¥7,000 for everyone else. The event sits alongside the Tokyo 30K Autumn and Tokyo 30K Fall Last Minute Entry, which are the same race offered in different registration windows.

They are the same 30K race on 3 October 2026, offered through different registration windows. The standard Tokyo 30K Autumn entry is the main listing, the Late Entry is a second window for runners who missed it, and the Last Minute Entry is the final window closest to race day. Prices and availability differ between the windows.
No. The Tokyo 30K is open to any runner who registers and pays the entry fee. There is no ballot and no qualifying standard, which is part of why it works so well as a marathon build-up race.
Yes. It was designed for exactly that purpose, giving runners 30 kilometres of race conditions to rehearse pacing, fuelling and mental strategies ahead of the autumn marathon season. The distance is long enough to be a genuine test without the recovery cost of a full marathon.
Based on three-year averages for October in the area, expect temperatures between about 15.5°C and 22.6°C, roughly 4.3 mm of rain across the month, around 6 hours 54 minutes of sunshine a day and humidity near 77 percent. Conditions are typically firm with some softer patches underfoot, which is quick going for a road 30K.
Hotels around Koto City Office and Toyosu put you within easy reach of the start area, and the Toyosu and Ginza districts offer plenty of accommodation with good metro links. Booking early is worthwhile because early October is a popular time to visit Tokyo.
