Overview

Three distances set off from York Racecourse, with most of the running on tarmac paths and some sections on trail that turn muddy through the winter. The 5k covers one lap, the 10k two laps, and the half marathon opens with a 1.1km out and back before four full laps of the same loop. Chip timing, a stunning medal, water and penguin bars wait at the finish, and the day raises awareness and funds for the charity Shelter. The atmosphere is built around high fives, smiles and plenty of encouragement for runners of every level.
