Runners gather at Cargo Bar in Assiniboine Park on Thanksgiving Monday for an untimed 5K through the park's autumn trails. The morning is built around fun rather than fast times, and participants set off together at 11:00 AM as one group. Entry covers a commemorative bib, a finisher medal, an event-branded toque, a turkey sandwich from the Manitoba Turkey Association, one post-run drink and s'mores at the outdoor station. From around 11:30 AM the party continues on Cargo Bar's patio with an outdoor DJ, games, prizes and plenty of time to socialise with fellow runners.
