The Safari Sprint is a seven hour time challenge run on well maintained paths and trail around the Northampton Washlands, starting and finishing at the same aid table on every lap. Runners choose their distance on the day, from a minimum of 3km up to a half marathon, marathon, 50km or beyond, adding or dropping laps as they please. A full lap measures 4.37 miles or 7km and the course includes 3km and 5km turn points so younger runners can stay within UK Athletics distance rules. Everyone who covers at least 3km is an official finisher and receives a themed animal medal, with distance pins for half marathon and longer and a goody bag that includes a vegan option. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules, and walkers are just as welcome as runners.

You choose your distance on the day rather than committing in advance. One full lap is 4.37 miles or 7km and you run as many or as few laps as you like within the seven hours. The minimum distance to be counted as an official finisher is 3km, which is part of a full lap. Three laps makes a half marathon, six makes a marathon, and seven or more makes an ultra.
Yes. The organiser describes the event as super inclusive and walkers are explicitly welcome alongside runners of all abilities.
Yes, there is an area at the start and finish where you can leave a bag. It is not a secure baggage area and items cannot be watched at all times, so please do not leave anything valuable.
If you cannot attend through illness or injury and have not transferred your entry, you can request a partial deferral up to 24 hours before the start. Email the organiser to report your absence and you will be offered an entry to another Saturn Running event at the reduced price of GBP 18.00. You must pay the fee within 28 days and choose a new event within six months of the original race date, after which the offer expires.
Yes. If this event is special for you, for example your 50th, 99th, 100th, 200th or 250th event or a half or full marathon milestone, let the organiser know in advance. You will receive a special running number printed with your name and the date of the event.
