The Drumstick Dash takes over the streets of Downtown Roanoke on Thanksgiving morning, with a 5K run and a 5K walk setting off at 9:00 AM. The course is run on closed city roads through the downtown district, giving participants a flat and sociable route that suits both runners chasing a time and families out for a holiday stroll. Every entry supports The Rescue Mission of Roanoke and its work feeding people in need across the region. The event has been recognised locally as a leading charity race, and the atmosphere is built around community spirit rather than pure competition.
