Mixed trail of forest floor, muddy areas, and packed gravel paths. Some hills included.

Route

Looped trail course weaving through the undulating trails of Sherwood Pines Forest. Each lap is exactly 5.76km. Participants can complete as many laps as they choose within 6 hours.

Getting There

Nearest train stations: Mansfield and Retford. Bus No. 14, 15 or 15A from Mansfield to Archway Road or Sherwood Pines (approx every 15 minutes, check weekend timetables). Then 1-mile walk into forest. Taxi recommended on Sunday mornings.

Park opens at 8am. Pre-race briefing via email roughly ten days before event.

Parking · PaidYes, there is a large car park at Sherwood Pines Forest. There is a charge for parking which we cannot offer a discount on. Car sharing is encouraged.

Public transportThe nearest train stations are Mansfield and Retford. From Mansfield, take bus No. 14, 15 or 15A to Archway Road or Sherwood Pines (approx every 15 minutes, check weekend timetables). Then there is about a 1-mile walk into the forest. On Sunday mornings, pre-booking a taxi is recommended.

Before you enter

RefundsEntry fees are non-refundable. However, you can purchase refund protection via XCover for £4.15 at checkout, which covers injury, illness, adverse weather, public transport disruption, and breakdown/accident.

TransfersYes, you can transfer your entry to another runner free of charge up to ten days before the event. Contact us with the new runner's name and contact details. An entry can only be transferred once.

DeferralsOne deferral allowed up to ten days before event. No fees.

If the race is cancelledIf the event is cancelled, postponed, or delayed for reasons outside our control (e.g., adverse weather, local authority advice), we will offer your entry to be carried forward to a new date or suitable alternative. No refunds will be given.

Bad weatherIn the unlikely event of cancellation due to adverse weather, entry will be carried forward to a new date or suitable alternative. No refunds.

Minimum ageUnder 12's are not allowed to participate. Ages 12-18 need a parent or guardian to contact us before signing up. UKA rules apply: Over 12-14 years: 5,000m; Over 14-16 years: 6,000m; Over 16-17 years: 10,000m; Over 17-18 years: 25,000m; Over 18-20 years: 45,000m.
