The Night Nobbler sends runners out after dark on a fully marked 10 km trail through woods near Narberth in Pembrokeshire. The ground underfoot is forest trail, with hills, muddy single track and the odd stream crossing, and the organisers add light installations, performers and fire spinning as surprises along the way. The night has a light theme, so participants are encouraged to wear bright clothing that glows under UV and to raid charity shops for upcycled fancy dress, with prizes for the best solo and group costumes. Everyone must carry a good torch, preferably a head torch, plus a mobile phone, since only some sections of the route are lit. A dark winter race day in west Wales, best suited to runners who enjoy mud, woodland and a party atmosphere.

Other questions
The Night Nobbler is currently listed as sold out, so entry is not available through the normal process. Places sometimes come free when other runners transfer their entries, so it is worth checking the organiser's website at narberthnobbler.co.uk for any released or transferred places.
The organisers light up some sections of the course, but not all of it. A good torch, preferably a head torch, is mandatory so you can see where you are going through the darker parts of the woodland.
No. A mobile phone is part of the mandatory kit for all participants, alongside a torch. Carry it in something waterproof, as the forest trails are often muddy and wet.
The route is fully marked and marshalled, which makes it manageable for newcomers, but it includes hills, muddy single track and stream crossings in the dark. If you are comfortable running 10 km and happy on uneven ground, it is a fun first step into night trail running.
The route is out in the woods at night with limited lighting, so it is not a classic roadside spectator course. Details of any accessible viewing points are published by the organiser before race night.
