The Newcastle Half Marathon Winter Warmer Run

The Newcastle Winter Warmer Run takes place at Exhibition Park and the Town Moor, where the course stays mostly flat on paths apart from one stone and trail section. Runners choose between a 5k, a 10k and a half marathon, and each distance is made up of laps of the same loop, so the half marathon covers four laps plus a further 1.1 km. Timing is chip based on the race bib, with results shown instantly on screens at the finish line, where every finisher collects a medal and the winners receive trophies. Registration and race pack collection happen on the morning of the event at the hub, which offers limited bag storage, toilets and coffee and snacks for purchase. The event is designed to keep motivation and training going through the winter months and supports the charity Shelter.
