The MTC Hafren Ultra is a point-to-point mountain ultramarathon that ascends Plynlimon Mountain to the source of the River Severn, then follows Britain's longest river path back down and out across the Welsh hills. The route crosses boggy terrain, with designated routes and marshalled checkpoints, before offering a 1,600ft descent through unspoilt scenery. Runners need to be self-sufficient with food and water on race day, and the event forms Day 1 of the MTC Severn Challenge with optional camping.

Other questions
No absolutely not! Entrants are able to enter each section of the race independently from the whole run, so if you don't fancy the whole run, you're more than welcome to enter a section separately.
There will be checkpoints along the way but all runners should ensure enough food and water to sustain themselves over the course of the event.
Yes, The MTC Hafren Ultra is Day 1 of the MTC Severn Challenge, but you can enter it on its own.
