Route

50K ULTRA ROUTE: Distance 52km, Elevation Gain +2858 m. Starts in Grasmere, climbs towards Easdale Tarn, Stickle Tarn, then down Cumbria Way towards Greater Langdale, Loughrigg Tarn, final climb to Rydal Head and Fairfield Horseshoe, technical descent back to Grasmere.

Parking · FreeYes, free parking at the venue (Grasmere Lakeland Sports & Shows).

Public transportNearest train station is Windermere (20 min drive from start venue). Southern Railway from London Euston to Windermere takes approx 3hr 20. Taxis available from Windermere (Lakeside Taxis 01539 488 888, Kendal 01539 239 239).

Aid stationsYes, outposts are provided on Ultra (4), Marathon (3), and Half Marathon (2) routes. No outpost on Middle or Short routes. Outposts offer sweet & savoury snacks, fruit, cake, crisps, gels, and electrolyte drink. Bring your own reusable cup or bottle for water.

Course markingYes, the course is fully marked. GPX route is also available for your watch or phone.

Before you enter

RefundsNo refunds. Entry can be transferred to another race of equal or less value if notified on or before Monday before event day (5 days before). Cannot transfer out of a sold-out race unless 7 days notice.

If the race is cancelledEntry fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances. If event cancelled due to weather, entry transferred.

Bad weatherMaverick Race reserves the right to cancel any event due to extreme weather conditions. In such event, entry transferred to rescheduled date or another event within same series. No refunds.

HeadphonesHeadphones are strongly not recommended for safety reasons.

Time limitYes, for the 50k Ultra & Marathon routes there is a cutoff of 19:00 (11 hours). Cutoff points are at Stickle Barn (10.5km) by 11:20, Neaum Crag Lodges (19.5km) by 12:30, Rydal Hall (27km) by 13:50, Kirkstone Pass (37km) by 15:30.
