The Lion Chase: Winery to Pub is a community fun run organised by the Great Western Football Netball Club, the Lions, and returns for its second edition in 2026 after a successful first event in 2025. Three distances are on offer, 13km, 5km and 2.5km, starting from Bests Winery on Bests Road at Great Western and finishing at the pub. The day is about building connections between the local community and the wider region while raising funds for junior participation in sport. Entry is priced to bring out the whole family, with tickets starting at $10 for children under 16 and $15 for adults, and walkers as well as runners are catered for by the shorter options.

The event is held on Saturday 31 October 2026. It is the second edition, following the first running in 2025.
The event is a fun run that welcomes the whole family, and the shorter distances are well suited to walkers. Check with the organiser when you enter if you plan to walk a longer distance.
