Other questions
Late or on-the-day entry has not been confirmed. The organisers publish the entry arrangements on their Global-Tempo page, and it is worth contacting them directly if you are travelling from outside Padul and need certainty.
Late November in the Lecrin valley and the foothills south of Granada is typically cool and changeable, with cold mornings and a real chance of rain or even snow on the higher ground nearby. Bring layers you can shed, and expect the summit of the climb to be windier and colder than the town.
For 9 kilometres of uphill running, a light handheld bottle or small vest is plenty, and a waterproof shell is sensible in November. The organisers have not published a mandatory kit list, so treat this as comfort rather than requirement and check their page closer to race day.
The distance is short, but the whole point of a subida is sustained climbing, so the effort is harder than a flat 9 kilometre race. Runners who have not raced uphill before should build some hill repeats and a few uphill long efforts into the weeks beforehand.
Padul sits at the edge of a wetland reserve famous for its peat bogs and birdlife, and Granada with the Alhambra is a short drive north. In November the Sierra Nevada above the town often has early snow, which makes for a striking backdrop to the weekend.
