The course follows the park's extensive path network around Strathclyde Loch, with long, flat stretches of wide, smooth surface running beside the water and open sections where runners can settle into a steady rhythm. Each distance uses a different mix of out-and-back running and parkland loops, so the 5K, 10K and Half Marathon all keep the loch in view. Runners of every age and ability gather at the park, with friends and families cheering from around the course and a welcoming event village open on the day. Chip timing, marshals, kilometre markers and free race photography are all part of the day.
