The Stockhorn Half Marathon is a mountain trail race in the Bernese Oberland that starts in the village of Oberwil im Simmental and finishes on the Stockhorn summit. Runners follow trails through Bunschen, Weissenburgbad, Weissenburgberg, Tanzboden and Schopf to Vorderstockenalp, where the mountain prize is awarded, then continue past Oberstockenalp and around the Oberstockensee to the top. The 21.1 kilometre route gains more than 1,700 metres of height across single track and alpine paths, and a shorter 10 kilometre Stockhorn Rush begins higher up at Balzenberg. Refreshments, a shower and a wide view of the surrounding peaks wait at the finish.
