Join us for the Steam Challenge on August 30, 2026, in Okehampton, Devon! Run or walk laps on a scenic 5.3k route with 7 hours to finish. All abilities welcome!

Parking · FreeYes, parking is available near the Fox and Hounds. Please then walk down to the start/HQ area.

Bag dropYes, there is a baggage access area at HQ which you can access each lap.

Aid stations · 1Yes, there is an aid station at HQ with a large selection of savoury and sweet items, squash, water, and coke. It is nut free.

Before you enter

RefundsNo refunds are offered. If the event is postponed and you cannot attend, you can defer to a later event within 12 months. Optional refund protection is available via XCover for £3.60.

TransfersYes, transfers to another person are accepted no later than 14 days prior to the event. Email [email protected] with details.

DeferralsDeferral to another event at organiser's discretion, accepted no later than 14 days prior. Valid for 1 year. One deferral only.

If the race is cancelledNo refunds. If postponed and unable to attend, deferral to another event within 12 months allowed.

Bad weatherIf events beyond control make course unsafe, event may be delayed, relocated, postponed or cancelled. No refunds offered.

Minimum ageParticipants must be aged 18 or older on race day. Under 18s may enter with parent/guardian contact, subject to distance restrictions.

Other questions

TUGG stands for Turn Up Get Going. You can arrive anytime between 7:30 AM and 2:30 PM and start your run/walk. You must finish by 3:30 PM.

You have 7 hours to complete as many laps as you can. You can do 1 lap up to 14 laps depending on your pace.

Yes, absolutely all abilities of runners and walkers are welcome. You have 7 hours to finish your final lap.
