Overview

The St Andrews Day Run brings a Scottish celebration to Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow's West End on Saturday 28 November 2026. Runners follow a 2.5km loop along leafy park paths, past the River Kelvin and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, with the 5K covering two laps and the 10K covering four. Scottish-themed stops at every kilometre, music and a few surprises give race day a very different feel from a standard park run. A Kids Race and a Toddler Dash follow the adult races, so the whole family can take part. Chip timing, free race photography, a bespoke St Andrew's Day finisher medal and a goody bag are all part of the day, and fancy dress in tartan is warmly encouraged.

Route

A 2.5km loop through Kelvingrove Park that the 10K completes four times, giving plenty of chances to soak up the atmosphere around the park and the Scottish-themed stops along the way.

Getting There

The nearest underground stations are Kelvinbridge and Kelvinhall.

Race Day

Race packs are collected on the day from Kelvin Way, where the bag drop is also located beside registration. The 5K and 10K set off together at 10:00, followed by the Toddler Dash at 11:45 and the Kids Race at 12:00.

Before you enter

Minimum ageFor the 5K, runners must be aged 11 or older on race day. For the 10K, the minimum age is 15 on race day. The Kids Race and Toddler Dash are designed specifically for younger children.

Time limitNo cut-off time is published on the event page. If you have a specific concern about how long you expect to be out on course, it is worth contacting the organiser, Up and Running Events, in advance.

Collecting your numberRace packs must be collected on the day of the event from Kelvin Way in Kelvingrove Park. There is no separate pre-event collection listed, so allow a little extra time before your start.
