It is an annual challenge walk held in March by the Cardiff Outdoor Group. It was first held in 1963 and is the oldest challenge walk in the UK.
The 2027 event is scheduled for Saturday 20th March 2027.
There are four routes: Platinum (17 miles, linear), Gold (20 miles, circular), Silver (15 miles, circular), and Bronze (10 miles, circular).
The Bronze Route is the shortest at 10 miles and may be more suitable for beginners, but all routes involve mountain terrain and require appropriate fitness.
The event was originally designed to test endurance and map reading skills, so basic navigation skills are recommended.
