Sherwood Pines Half Marathon & 10K is a forest trail race run under the pine canopy at Sherwood Pines in Nottinghamshire. Runners follow undulating tracks and trails on a lapped circuit, with half marathon entrants covering two laps and 10k entrants covering one. A 20 mile option offers a longer day on the same woodland paths, and a short junior run opens the morning before the main races. The event welcomes runners of all levels, from first-timers to seasoned racers, and its spring date makes it a natural addition to a marathon training block.

Other questions
Yes. A junior run of 1.30 km starts at 09:30 at a cost of 8 EUR, giving children their own race on the same morning as the main events.
The half marathon is a two lap route and 10k runners complete a single lap of the same circuit, on undulating tracks and trails around Sherwood Pines.
The 20 mile option covers 32.19 km on the Sherwood Pines trails. It starts at 10:00, costs 40 EUR and is open to runners aged 18 and over, making it a useful long training run for a spring marathon.
The course follows forest tracks and trails, so trail shoes with a little grip are the sensible choice, especially if the ground is wet or muddy in early spring. Road shoes will cope on the firmer forest roads but offer less grip on soft sections.
Every entry includes a finisher medal, a single use timing chip, drink stations on the course and medical assistance.
