SEA ALPS TRAIL JOURNEY 2026 follows the Michinoku Shiokaze Trail through the coastal villages of Fudai, Tanohata and Iwaizumi in northern Iwate Prefecture. The roughly 49 km route links forest, sea and village on singletrack that is known as the Sea Alps, and it passes through hand dug tunnels where a light is essential. Runners set off from Fudaihama Enchi Kirami at 05:30 and finish at Hamanoeki Omoto Aidokan, with a limit of 11 hours 30 minutes, checkpoints along the way and a field of 300.
