Schokland Ultramarathon - 45 km

The race is scheduled for Monday 28 December 2026.

Late December in Flevoland is typically cold, windy and often wet, with sunset in the late afternoon. Plan for low temperatures, exposed polder wind and the possibility of rain or frost, and follow the organiser's guidance if conditions turn severe.

Schokland sits between Kampen, Emmeloord and Lelystad and is easiest to reach by car, with road access from the A6 and the N352. The nearest larger railway stations are Kampen and Zwolle, with onward bus or taxi travel needed for the final stretch, so check current timetables when planning.

This listing does not publish a kit list, so treat the organiser's instructions as final. For a winter ultramarathon of this length, runners commonly carry a phone, a waterproof shell, spare warm layers, a head torch for the short daylight hours, a cup and enough fluid and food to cover the gaps between stations.

Spectator arrangements are not described on this listing. Much of the course crosses open polder where access is limited, so ask the organiser where the best public viewing points are before travelling to support.
