This is a seven hour time challenge organised by Saturn Too Limited on behalf of Saturn Running, starting and finishing at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court in Staines-upon-Thames. Participants decide for themselves how many laps to run inside the seven hour window, and the minimum recorded distance for a finisher is 3km, so the day works equally well for a short social outing or a marathon and beyond. The lap runs along a stretch of the River Thames on a fully signed route that needs no navigation, with roughly 60 percent well-made path or tarmac and the rest on grass and light trail that can be muddy after rain. Road shoes suit the course all year round, trail shoes are an option for extra grip, and the organiser may alter the loop for health and safety or landowner requirements. Aid and drinks tables sit at the start and finish of every lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan options, and everyone who completes at least 3km receives a medal with a goody bag. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules, headphones are allowed and the route uses public footpaths.
