It is a 7-hour time challenge where participants can choose their own distance from 3 km to ultra marathon.
The course is a loop along the River Wear with views of Durham Cathedral. It is a trail run, non-technical.
Half marathon is 3 laps, marathon is 6 laps, 50 km is 7 or more laps. Shorter distances have turn points within the lap.
