Overview

The São Silvestre dos Olivais sends runners, walkers and children through the decorated streets of the Olivais parish in eastern Lisbon on the evening of 30 December. The main Corrida covers around 10 km on paved city streets, leaving from outside the Olivais Parish Council building and finishing at GO FIT Olivais on Avenida Berlim, with a short 1 km Mini São Silvestre for younger participants and a 4 km walk for those who prefer a gentler pace. Local crowds line the route through one of Lisbon's traditional districts, giving the night a warm, neighbourhood feel rather than a big-city marathon mood. The event is organised by the Parish Council of Olivais with Ingleses Futebol Clube, supported by Lisbon City Council and Xistarca.

Paved city streets and avenues through a residential Lisbon parish, run at night with a modest rise and fall across the course. The Strava route from the 2023 edition measured 10.1 km with 131 m of elevation gain.

Departure in front of the Olivais Parish Council. Left onto Sargento Armando Monteiro Ferreira Street, straight ahead onto Alferes Barrilaro Street, right onto General Silva Freire Street, right onto 1º Cabo José Martins Silvestre Street, then return halfway back along 1º Cabo José Martins Silvestre Street. Right onto Vice-Almirante Augusto de Castro Guedes Street, first exit on the right at the roundabout onto Av. Dr. Alfredo Bensaúde, first exit on the right at the roundabout onto Furriel João Nunes Redondo Street, left onto Sargento Armando Monteiro Ferreira Street, second exit at the roundabout onto Contra-Almirante Armando Ferraz Street, third exit at the roundabout onto Av. De Berlim. Right onto Av. Infante D. Henrique, right onto Av. De Pádua, left onto Almada Negreiros Street, right onto Luanda City Avenue, left onto Nova Lisboa City Street, straight ahead onto Luso City Square, straight ahead onto Moçâmedes City Street, right onto Bissau City Street, right onto Lourenço Marques City Avenue, right onto Berlin Avenue, finish at GO FIT Olivais.

Getting There

Olivais is easily accessible by metro and sits just minutes from Lisbon airport, making the start area straightforward to reach by public transport.

All three events take place on the evening of Wednesday 30 December 2026 in the Olivais parish of Lisbon, with the Mini São Silvestre setting off first at 20:30, the main 10 km Corrida at 21:00 and the 4 km walk at 21:10.
